Annual A-Class Challenge Regatta

8:30 am, Sailor Check-in for first race at SCYC

9 am, A-Class Challenge

Come join in the thrill of real Bahamian sailing! Traditionally an all-Bahamian affair, our “Mixed Regatta” puts YOU, our guests (over 60 total), on the top two A-Class sloops in the Bahamas – Tida Wave and Lady Muriel – the most decorated boats of all time in Bahamian sloop sailing. 10-12 guests will join the Bahamian crews on each boat. No sailing experience required so CLIMB ABOARD a truly unique Staniel Cay experience!

Following Last Race – Awards Ceremony for A-Class Challenge at SCYC

NOTE: Sign-ups are 2-5 pm on the 29th (day before the race) at the Skippers’ Party at SCYC.

NOTE: Participants are also invited to the Captain’s Cocktail Party on the 31st (the day after the race) at the Staniel Cay Public Beach at 3:30pm.

Dine at SCYC

This year, there are two dining options at the yacht club.

Traditional Buffet Under the Stars, 5:30 – 7:00 pm

The Annual Turkey & Pig Roast buffet is served from 5:30-7:00. Seating will be outside under the stars (deck and dock tables) and in the captains’ lounge.  Cost is $40/per person* and includes a wristband for the New Year’s Eve party. Reservations are required and can be made in person at SCYC, via phone at (242) 355-2024 (SCYC Bahamas office) or via email at reservations@stanielcay.com starting 12/26.  Payment is due at the time of reservation.

Pop and Fizz Feast at Sea Level, 8:30 pm, NOTE: SOLD OUT

A spectacular 4-course feast inclusive of a complimentary glass of premium champagne (see menu) served in SCYC’s main dining room.  Cost is $120/per person* and includes a wristband for the New Year’s Eve party.  Reservations are required and can be made in person at SCYC, via phone at (242) 355-2024 (SCYC Bahamas office) or via email at reservations@stanielcay.com starting 12/26.  Payment and entree selection is due at the time of reservation.

 

12 Midnight, SCYC – Ring in the New Year!

Skippers’ Party & Pre-Race Briefing for A-Class Challenge (Dec. 31) 4:30 pm, SCYC

Our race committee and Skippers host this annual “grill out.” All food and drink is free (while supplies last) courtesy of the A-Class Committee and the people of Staniel Cay. A-Class logistics will be discussed and crews picked for the next day’s race.
