Important COVID-19 Travel Information

As always, Staniel Cay Yacht Club regards the safety of our guests and employees with utmost priority and importance. We are actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) closely and want to let you know that we are working daily to assess any new impacts and updates to travel policies from the appropriate authorities. We are committed to providing you with the relevant information you need to make informed travel decisions.

Travel Requirements

1. RT-PCR COVID- 19 Molecular Swab Test with Negative Result (Required until further notice) from an accredited lab.

Important Tips:

The official laboratory report should include:

• Accredited Lab name and/or address

• Sample collection date

• Type of COVID 19 test (PCR, NAA, NAAT, RNA, Molecular)

• Negative or Not Detected result.          

• This test must be taken within a window of up to ten (10) days before travel to The Bahamas. (Important to note: “Day One” is the actual test date).

• Test results (Negative) must be uploaded to online travel health form presented upon arrival.  Anyone presenting a test over ten (10) days upon arrival, will be denied boarding. 

• Bring a hard copy of your negative test results with you for airline check-in.


2. Travel Health Visa

• Forms must be filled out prior to travel. All Travelers must complete a Travel Health Visa application online at 

• Each family member must apply (including children) and pay attention to the questions carefully when applying.

• Allow for 24-72 hours to receive an automated response. Green (APPROVED), Yellow (PROCESSING)  or Red (DENIED and can reapply)

• Bring a hard copy of your approved Travel Health Visa with you for airline check-in.


3. Face Masks

• When traveling, face masks are required at all times in the passenger lobby and for the duration of the flight. This is mandated by the Government of the Bahamas. Any passenger who takes off their mask in flight will be subject to a $500 government fine.

Important tips:

• Some lab test results are more than one page. ALL PAGES MUST BE PRESENTED FOR APPROVAL. Please create one PDF file as the system only allows for one document to be uploaded for approval when applying for a Travel Health Visa. 

• Children under 10 years old are exempt from needing a negative COVID test. However, you still must apply for a Travel Health Visa for them.

• Complete a health questionnaire and temperature check upon check-in to SCYC



The following information applies to all SCYC guests.


Masks, Temperature Checks & Social Distancing

To protect yourself and our Bahamas, all guests are kindly asked to wear a face mask and follow social distancing measures when out and about on SCYC property. Not wearing a mask can be penalized by the government for $200 per offense. Masks are required when walking around the property and upon entering and exiting the check-in area, restaurant, and bar.  Temperature checks will be performed at check-in, as well as prior to entering the restaurant and bar area.


Nightly Curfew

A nightly curfew remains in effect daily from 7pm to 5am.  You are required to remain on SCYC property during this time period.  SCYC will close at 10pm each night to remain in compliance with the curfew.


Effective immediately, indoor dining will re-open at 50% capacity with physical distancing measures in place.   All guests will be required to wear a mask when entering and exiting the restaurant and bar.   SCYC is pleased to let you know that we have also added outdoor dining tables to accommodate our guests with full beverage and dining service provided by our stellar SCYC servers. PLEASE NOTE: Reservations for lunch and dinner are HIGHLY recommended due to limited seating at this time. Snorkeling Gear
For everyone’s health and safety, SCYC will no longer offer snorkel gear rental.  You are more than welcome to bring your own gear or else purchase a snorkel set at check-in. A $25 voucher per cottage will be offered to our current Package Plan guests who booked their reservation prior to June 9th, 2020 in lieu of snorkel gear inclusion.
