Information How can I get there?
Our guests come to Staniel Cay in many ways. Call our U.S. office at
(954) 467-8920 or the Yacht Club at (242) 355-2024 for more
information on scheduled and charter flights from Nassau or Fort
Lauderdale. You can also contact Flamingo Air directly at (242)
377-0354. Don’t forget to bring proof of citizenship (either
passport or a birth certificate and photo ID).

For Private Pilots
Before embarking, private pilots should consult the
Pilots Guide to the Bahamas for navigational and other details. Staniel Cay is not a port of entry. To clear customs and immigration, we suggest
either San Andros (Andros), Fresh Creek (Andros), or Chub Cay. Call us on
Unicom 122.80 as you approach and we will provide complimentary shuttle
service to the Yacht Club.

For Boaters
Staniel Cay is located approximately 75 miles Southeast of Nassau. You will
find our marina docks have been recently renovated and expanded, with room
up to 18 boats.
The approaches from both the banks (West) and The Exuma Sand (East) are
relatively straightforward. However, we strongly recommend a good, recent
chart for first-time visitors. The
Explorer Charts and The
Yachtsmans Guide regularly
get excellent reviews from our marina guests. For dockage, call (242)
355-2024 if you like to make a reservation. We monitor VHF channel 16. |
What’s the weather like?
No matter what time of year you choose to travel to Staniel Cay, you will
experience nature at its best. In the summer months the average air
temperature is approximately 86 degrees (F). In the winter months the
average air temperature is in the mid 70's. Water temperatures are a pleasant 70 – 80
degrees all year long. |

Wondering what to bring?
Pack comfortably and casually. While the Yacht Club's gift shop and the
other island stores stock many of the essentials, we advise you bring the
following: several bathing suits, sandals, sunglasses, suntan
lotion/sunscreen, light cover-up clothing, a pair of long pants and
windbreaker in the winter, camera and film (underwater disposables work
surprisingly well), insect repellent, a good book or two, and maybe a
portable music player. |
Communication
The Yacht Club's cottages do not have individual telephones, but a phone, fax
and internet are available for our guests to use. Pre-paid BATELCO phone
cards are available in the clubhouse for use in our beautiful phone
booths and internet access is available on a per-minute basis. |

Medical
Staniel Cay has a small clinic with a nurse in residence, but please bring
any necessary prescription medications, contact lenses solution, etc. For
boaters, the nurse can be reached at the "Saint Luke's Clinic" on VHF
channel 16. |
Finance
There are no ATM's on Staniel Cay. The Yacht Club accepts Visa and MasterCard
credit cards (5% service fee applies), as well as traveler's checks. There is no need to exchange
money, as Bahamian and U.S. dollars are accepted equally by all Bahamian
establishments.
